Default Nightfall Prerelease Bonus Pack Details

Some info on the weapons and the other goodies from guildwars.com:

The Guild Wars NightfallTM Prerelease Bonus Pack, expected to hit store shelves on September 15, will give fans their first taste of Guild Wars Nightfall with a new retail package that includes:

Guild Wars "Play Now" key for a 10-hour/14-day trial* of Guild Wars PropheciesTM and Guild Wars FactionsTM.

Guild Wars Nightfall Bonus Key, providing one additional character slot for a Guild Wars Nightfall account.

Two exclusive items for the new professions—a Fiery Sunspear of Shelter for the Paragon and an Icy Soulbreaker of Enchanting for the Dervish.

Mini strategy guide, concept art, screenshots, in-game renders of characters and items, preview trailer, wallpapers, lore, quick reference card, music, and more!

The Fiery Sunspear of Shelter is the iconic weapon of the Order of the Sunspears and consists of a tempered steel head and a long Mebahya-wood shaft, gripped at the midpoint. Behind the head, a flattened sunburst disk increases stability in flight, as does the riverhorse-bristle fletching on the butt of the weapon. Deadly in the hands of a skilled individual, the Sunspear was first used as a weapon by the early Order of the Sunspears in Istan and remains a traditional weapon of that Elonian province.

Fire Damage: 14–27 (requires 9 Spear Mastery)
+5 Energy
+7 Armor vs. Physical Damage

The Icy Soulbreaker of Enchanting is a lightweight but powerful Dervish weapon. Its haft is made of bound ironreed wrapped with bindings made of Elonian leather. Its head is carved from strengthened skyquartz, a shatterproof crystalline mineral mined in southern Istan. The secondary blade at the base of the weapon is also made of skyquartz, and is carved in the traditional "blades of the five gods" design. Among the Dervishes, such weapons are often passed down from mentor to student, and often are as much pieces of art as they are weapons of war.

Cold Damage: 9–41 (requires 9 Scythe Mastery)
+15% damage while enchanted
Enchantments last 20% longer

i hope they just forgot to put the type of +15% bonus on the sunspear.

otherwise itll be about as cool as my War Pick. Looks neat, but useless in endgame/pvp.

Bah, they never provide details on what matters to me most: music.
Currently I have all the Guild Wars DirectSong tracks there is possible to get. I'll base my choice of buying this to if it has DirectSong music not available from anywhere else or not.

I highly doubt they threw a directsong key in the prerelease pack. That's a CE grade bonus.

Thank you for the information on the Spear and Scythe. That spear will go nice with my monk. Assuming you can type in /preorder and have them pop up.

It's Sep 15 world wide. You can't get the prerelease pack from guildwars.com. You'll have to try a local or online retailer. Just about every place that will be selling the game will be getting the prerelease packs.

Were the descriptions provided before?

Because they sound really cool.

I don't think so, I notice the pic of the Icy Soulbreaker looks a bit different from the image they originally released

Gamestop lets you get the CE with the prerelease pack, haven't really looked anywhere else. One thing that has me a bit concerned is that the article
http://www.guildwars.com/support/whe...prerelease.php
only has links to EBgames, Gamestop, and Amazon. In the past there was also Bestbuy and Compusa and maybe others I don't remember...... does that mean other retailers wont carry it.... or maybe the other retailers wont have it listed until it actually goes on sale.

I'm more curious about the wording for that extra character slot. It says "additional slot for nightfall account". Does that mean this extra slot won't be useable until you buy nightfall and add the nightfall key? Or is it just worded poorly (intentionally by marketing) and in fact it works as though you bought a new char slot from the online store....

Does anyone know whether or not this starter kit is going to be sold separate from the actual Nightfall box? The reason I ask is that after looking on Amazon and EBgames/Gamespot, the only prerelease kits I saw were bundled with the 2 versions of Nightfall (standard/CE) with an estimated arrival date of 10/27. I've been looking forward to picking up the prerelease kit on the 15th, but if no retailer is going to sell it separately on the 15th, then I'm not going to waste my time driving 15 minutes each way.

I think there was a post here on Guru by either Gaile or Alex that said you won't get the bonus slot until you add a Nightfall key to your account. Then, assuming you have Prophecies and Factions merged, you would jump from 6 to 9 slots (2 with Nightfall + 1 bonus slot).

Sigh, this question again. If you get prerelease pack and the actual game you get three new slots(five if you don't merge with existing account). If you get just the actual game you get two new slots(four if you don't merge with existing account). If you just buy the prerelease pack you get no slots.

Straight from Alex Weekes:

As Knightsaber says, you will get 3 (three) slots total when you add the "pre-release" key code to your Nightfall account.

If you don't buy Nightfall, you get nada, even if you have the pre-release.

The prerelease items are much nicer then the ones released for the Assassin and Ritualist. Both items are very practical for their classes. Also that Sunpear will be a great compliment for many spell-casting classes with Paragon as secondary.

I’m really looking forward to Nightfall these items ROCK!

Question will we have accsess to these items before Nightfall's release?
